The CornBelters have announced the dates for their Baseball in Education days for the 2018 season at The Corn Crib, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers.
The CornBelters will be hosting two Baseball in Education Days in 2018: Tuesday, May 8th and Wednesday, May 9th.
Gates will open at 9:00 a.m. with the first pitch following at 10:00 a.m. on both days.
The day of baseball fun and learning will include a baseball-themed educational packet for each student, offering lessons across a number of subjects (math, science, social studies, etc.). Each game day will also incorporate a number of community partners to create awareness about local programs and extended learning opportunities for kids.
“In past years this event has sold out with 4,000 students attending Education Day at The Corn Crib,” said CornBelters Team President Steve Malliet. “A number of the schools come from well beyond the McLean County area, so we’re looking forward to offering two dates in 2018 and getting as many Central Illinois schools involved as we can.”
Registration for the Baseball in Education Days will be available in the coming weeks and will include a ticket to the game with the option of a boxed lunch for each student. Bus drivers, teachers, principals, and school officials who attend will receive one complimentary ticket.
Updated information, schedules, and registration materials will be available soon on www.NormalBaseball.com. For additional questions, call the MICU Box Office at The Corn Crib at 309-454-2255 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
